The COVID-19 virus continues to challenge our community, and we are all adjusting to the changes in our everyday lives.
Here at Yelm Prairie Dental we are open and taking care of our patients. In the dental profession, we are held to a very high standard for universal precautions. We wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, masks, and eyewear during every appointment. We have hand washing stations and hand sanitizing solution that is used between every appointment. Our instruments are required to undergo sterilization in an autoclave that is tested weekly for its effectiveness and our rooms are thoroughly wiped down between every appointment with a special solution approved by the health department. Just like you, every evening we go home to our families. It is important for us to keep them safe – this is done first by keeping ourselves safe. As is typical for us, we have asked that our employees stay home when they feel sick. We also encourage this of our patients; if you feel sick, are at risk or have someone in your household that is sick, please call and reschedule your appointment.
It is our desire to treat our patients in the same way that we always have; with the care and compassion that you are a part of our family. Your health and well-being are of vital importance to us as we strive to deliver the highest quality of care possible. We are maintaining close contact with the Department of Health for updates and to continue our part in keeping everyone protected. If you choose to come in, we welcome you! As all things do, this too shall pass. Until then, we see this as an opportunity to grow together as a community. Let’s be the change we want to see in the world by helping each other stay safe and healthy.

COVID-19 Mandated Closure for Dental Offices

Last night Gov. Inslee signed an executive order prohibiting “non-urgent procedures that require medical and dental professionals to wear personal protective equipment.”
Gov. Jay Inslee signed an executive order prohibiting “non-urgent procedures that require medical and dental professionals to wear personal protective equipment.” This restriction does NOT apply to "dental treatment for patients with emergency and urgent needs.”
This impacts all hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and dental, orthodontic and endodontic offices in Washington. The governor’s proclamation makes clear that this restriction does not apply to treatment for patients with emergency and urgent needs.
The Governor’s order is in effect until May 18, 2020.
If you have an emergency do not hesitate to call us. We will see you and make you as comfortable as possible during this time. We still have the office closed until April 10th and will be contacting people if the governor does not lift the mandate before May 18th.
All appointments have been cancelled through April 10th. You are welcome to call for rescheduling we will be answering the phones from 8 – 4pm – please keep in mind this could change. There is only one person in the office at a time so please leave a message if your call is not answered. Please do not hang up and call back.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE
March 18, 2020
Our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff and community. In this unprecedented time, we are deeply committed to keeping everyone safe. In light of the evolving pandemic and out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to close our practice until April 10, 2020, with a reopening date of April 13, 2020. We believe that this closure will allow us to more effectively evaluate this dynamic situation and assist in following the CDC’s guidance on social separation along with the Washington State Dental Association recommendations. If you have an appointment scheduled with us, our office will be in touch to help reschedule your appointment. Dr Lesh will be on call in the event of a dental emergency. Should you require emergency dental care, please call our office as you normally would and one of our staff members will assist you Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please be aware that appointment times will be limited.
We did not make this decision lightly. A great deal of care, research and planning guided our decision. We will continue to evaluate the situation as it evolves and determine on a weekly basis when it is appropriate for us to return to our normal business hours. Again, please understand that we are making this decision with the health and well-being of our patients, our families, our team and our community in mind. We wish all of you continued health and strength during this challenging time.
